Open Access Policy

JPMR provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Its free availability on the public internet permits any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles; crawl them for indexing; pass them as data to software; or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Project Management Research (JPMR) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening prior to the review process to ensure the originality and authenticity of the work.

To detect textual similarities and potential plagiarism, JPMR uses QuillBot Plagiarism Checker as its primary screening tool. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references) will be returned to the authors for revision or may be rejected, depending on the severity and nature of the overlap. Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and properly cited. Any confirmed case of plagiarism or research misconduct will result in immediate rejection and may lead to further action by the Editorial Board.

AI-Assisted Writing Policy

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools (such as ChatGPT, QuillBot, Grammarly, etc.) is permitted only for language editing, grammar correction, or improving readability. Authors must ensure that AI tools are not used to generate substantive content, analyze data, or interpret research findings.

If AI tools are used in manuscript preparation, authors must clearly disclose this in the Acknowledgment section, specifying the tool and its purpose. The responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of the manuscript remains entirely with the authors. Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools may be considered a violation of JPMR’s publication ethics and could lead to rejection or retraction of the article.

Peer Review Policy

The Journal of Project Management Research (JPMR) implements a peer review policy to ensure the academic quality, relevance, and integrity of all published articles. The review process comprises three main stages: initial review, double-blind peer review, and editorial decision.

1. Initial Review

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an editorial screening to assess its suitability for the journal’s scope and standards. During this stage, the manuscript is also checked for textual similarity using the QuillBot Plagiarism Checker. Manuscripts found to be outside the journal’s scope or showing a similarity index greater than 15% will be rejected at this stage.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial review are forwarded to a double-blind peer review, ensuring anonymity between authors and reviewers. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who assess its originality, clarity, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field. In selecting reviewers, the editor ensures that no conflicts of interest exist to maintain the objectivity and fairness of the review process.

3. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or assigned handling editor makes the final decision regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. Authors will be notified of the decision along with the reviewers’ feedback to guide necessary revisions.

Publication Policy

All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest quality and objectivity of published content. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are anonymized and contain no identifying information that may reveal the author’s identity during the review process.

JPMR accepts manuscripts written in English. To maintain readability and publication quality, all accepted manuscripts will undergo language editing and copyediting prior to publication.

Article Processing Charges (APC) and Fee Waiver Policy

JPMR is committed to promoting inclusivity and supporting the dissemination of research across diverse academic communities. To sustain publication operations and maintain open access to all readers, Article Processing Charges (APCs) are applied upon acceptance of a manuscript.

However, fee waivers are available under specific conditions, including:

  • Manuscripts originating from recognized collaborative conference proceedings that have established an official partnership with JPMR.
  • Authors from low-income countries or institutions may apply for partial waivers, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

All waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission, accompanied by relevant supporting documentation. The Editorial Board reserves the right to approve or decline any waiver request at its discretion.

Digital Preservation and Repository Policy

All published articles are preserved through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) integrated with the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. This policy supports the principles of open access and ensures long-term preservation and availability of published content.
